Sylwia Żakowska-Biemans is a professor and Head of the Department of Food Market and Consumer Research at the Institute of Human Nutrition Sciences, Warsaw University of Life Sciences. Her academic career spans more than three decades, with a focus on consumer decision-making, sustainable and healthy eating behaviours, and innovations in the food system. She has participated in numerous national and EU-funded research projects examining the key drivers of organic farming development. Her scholarly contributions include over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and co-authorship of an award-winning book introducing the principles of organic farming. In addition to her research, she is actively engaged in science-policy dialogue, serving as an external expert to the European Commission and providing strategic advisory support to national institutions in the agri-food sector.
