Susanne Padel

Susanne Padel is a freelance researcher with four decades’ experience in various socio-economic aspects of organic farming, both in the UK and in Europe. She now works part-time as a freelance researcher and consultant and supports IFOAM Organic Europe on two projects, the Organic Advice Network and Organic Targets for EU.
After her degree from Kassel University, Witzenhausen, Susanne worked as a consultant for organic farmers in North Germany. Since 1993, she has worked as a researcher including on numerous EU funded and national projects related to organic sector development, agroecology, organic market data and supply chains, conversion, farm management, regulations and policy support. From 2019 to 2023 she worked for the Thünen Institute for Farm Economics in Germany on a project about women on farms.
