Jürn Sanders

Dr. Jürn Sanders is one of the world’s leading experts on the promotion and the economic efficiency of organic farming. He studied political science and economics, as well as organic agriculture, in which he obtained a PhD from the University of Wales. After two decades of research at the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL (Switzerland) and the Thünen Institute in Braunschweig (Germany), Jürn Sanders assumed the role of Head of Department of Food System Sciences at FiBL Switzerland in 2022. Since 2023, he is chairman of FiBL Switzerland. Jürn Sanders acts as advisor on agricultural and sustainability policy at government level and is a lecturer at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland) and the University of Kassel-Witzenhausen (Germany).
